JA offers diverse, hands-on programming that educates students on the basics of business, financial literacy and work readiness.
Volunteers are integral to JA's work. Your commitment could vary from one half day session to weekly evening meetings over many weeks depending on the program you choose.
Since 1990, Junior Achievement has recognized and honoured entrepreneurs who have inspired others through their investment and success in business and community. The Junior Achievement Newfoundland and Labrador Business Hall of Fame Gala is JA’s signature fundraiser, supporting work that focuses on the development of financial literacy, work readiness and entrepreneurship for youth. Over a 21 week period, JA’s Company Program teaches grade 9-12 students how to organize and operate a real business. Volunteers from the local business community work with students to launch and run a small enterprise. This gives students the real-world skills and experience that they need to achieve their dreams of becoming entrepreneurs.

We are building our team and seeking a self-starting, results-oriented and forward-thinking individual who is passionate about youth education to join us.
The Program Liaison will be accountable for the coordination of some JA programs. The scope of this position is varied and may include: volunteer development; liaising with schools and the business community; conducting presentations; building and nurturing relationships with JA partners; ensuring program quality and best practices; collecting and managing program data; and other organizational duties, as needed. Periodic evening work and/or provincial travel may be required.
