More than Money introduces students to the concept of earning, saving, sharing and spending money, the role of financial institutions, and the connectedness of society. Additionally, through a series of activities, such as identifying start-up costs, tracking financial gains and losses, and data driven decision making, students will experience fundamental aspects to creating, building and running a business. Reading, interpreting, critical thinking, decision making and communication of ideas are central throughout the program. 

 
 
 

Our Business World provides opportunities for students to connect innovation and entrepreneurship.  Students will also discover how businesses arise from a need, and the importance of adapting to change.   Concepts of product, price, place, promotion and customer service and their role in the success of a business are introduced.  Additionally, through a series of activities, students will discuss and critically think about the positive or negative impact businesses may have on employees, the community and environment. 

 
 
 

Economics for Success provides students the opportunity to explore educational and career goals based on their skills, interests and values, while considering the long- and short-term financial implications of these choices.   The importance of planning in goal setting and choice is threaded throughout the lessons, as students develop personal budgets and prepare for future employment. 

 
 
 

Dollars with Sense gives grade 7-9 students the vital tools they need to make smart financial decisions, live debt-free and become savvy investors. Students learn personal money management skills that they can apply to their lives beginning now.

 
 
 

Personal Finance outlines the five elements of financial planning: earning, saving, spending wisely, using credit cautiously, and protecting your finances.  Connecting the financial implications between earning, saving and spending, this program discusses income, educational choices, planning and budgeting, and informed decision making and the role they all play in a person’s financial health throughout typical life stages.  

 
 
 

Company Program consists of weekly sessions over a four-month period where students are guided through the process of creating and operating a business. Advisors from the local business community teach basic entrepreneurship principles and are there to provide insight and support as students brainstorm and select a business idea, vote on company roles, and manage their business’ production, finances, sales, marketing, and more
